In the twenty-third century, the gap between rich and poor has increased. Instead of protesting with signs and shirts claiming to be part of "The Ninety-Nine Percent", the impoverished decide to stand up to "The Man" by hacking into the mainframes that control the banking system. In Shady Tactics, you play the role of one such hacker.

The goal of Shady Tactics is to hack the computers on each of the twenty levels and safely escape to the exit. Since you are not given a weapon, you will have to use stealth, cunning, and timing. Hide in the shadows to avoid being discovered, and time your movements to avoid detection. If you are detected, you will be tortured, maimed, and killed, but you will conveniently resurrect at the beginning of the current level. There is no save system in this adventure game, but a skilled gamer will be able to complete it within thirty minutes.

Shady Tactics uses a simple set of keyboard controls. Use the left and right arrow keys to move and the up arrow key to jump. Tapping the up arrow key while in midair causes your character to double jump. If double jumping is not enough to reach high ledges, look for crates to push and jump on them to gain additional height. You do not have weapons to deal with enemies, so you will have to avoid them. Standing in shadows automatically activates your stealth mode, but be careful not to walk under lights or you will disintegrate.

Shady Tactics is a well-developed adventure game, but it is not without its flaws. Firstly, the game's graphics are tiny, so you may have a hard time identifying objects or finding your character and enemies in the dark. Also, although a skilled gamer can compete the game in thirty minutes, less-skilled gamers may not be able to complete the game at all since there is no save system, forcing you to start from the very first level each time that you play. Finally, there are some bugs in this platform game that may cause you to get stuck in the stage. You will have to refresh your browser if this happens, forcing you to start the game from its beginning.
