Fixation is controlled by using the keyboard and the mouse. Use the arrow keys (or the WASD keys) to move. Use the mouse to direct your character's smoke. The P key pauses the game.
Fixation is the prequel to the highly-acclaimed adventure game, The Company of Myself. Like its predecessor (creation-wise; it would be the sequel story-wise) Fixation features well-designed sprite graphics, simple controls, and music that adds to the surreal atmosphere.
In Fixation, you play the role of Kathryn, a woman with psychological problems. This adventure game is dialogue-heavy, so you can delve into your character's psyche if you wish. Those of you that want to get right into the game can skip the dialogue however, so you won't have to worry about Kathryn's psychology. Instead, you will have to worry about lasers!
The objective of Fixation is to escape from each room. The game begins like a typical platformer. Use the arrow keys (or WASD keys) to move and advance dialogue. If you cannot leap over an obstacle, you may want to try double-jumping (by tapping the up arrow key or W key twice). Your progress is automatically saved, so you can continue from any area that you have unlocked the next time that you play this adventure game.
This platform game starts off easy, but by the fifth room, you will have to contend with lasers! Smoking is a bad habit that can kill a person slowly over the years, but lasers kill instantly! Luckily for you, your smoke can block out lasers. Click to blow smoke in the direction of your mouse cursor. Smoke is used to solve other puzzle in this adventure game as well, so be observant, and if all else fails, don't be afraid to blow some smoke on the issue!
Fixation is a great blend of puzzle game and platformer that presents a challenge, but isn't strenuous enough to put off casual gamers. Fans of The Company of Myself especially will enjoy its amazing and addictive prequel, Fixation!
